![]() Price wise I'm not too impressed but this is probably the first concealer that actually "feels"good on my skin. I bought mine from Mecca Cosmetica Newmarket while having a makeup consultation with Hourglass Cosmetics MUA Laura Janes. I know that in general concealers should be a shade or 2 lighter than your skintone but the problem I have with Hourglass products that I've tried so far is that there's generally a white cast - primer / foundation and now concealer so I can't go any lighter than the shade that I have. I have the shade TAN which is a smidgen too light, however the next shade up is a smidgen too dark (chocolate club problems) but since I mainly use it underneath my foundation it works out well. The product sits really well under my liquid foundation it doesn't move or crease on me so it's definitely a winner in my makeup book. I find with a brush it's a bit harder to move the product to the desired area before it dries but that's just me because my skill level isn't quite up to that standard. To blend it out you can use a synthetic brush but I prefer to use a damp makeup sponge and bounce the product across the area that needs concealing or highlighting. I use it straight from the tube, it goes on creamy with very good coverage and dries down to a powder finish. It took me a few weeks to pick up the right product what I thought would be the lipstick was the concealer and vice versa. It comes in the signature sleek Hourglass packaging in a twist up tube that is almost the same size as the Hourglass Lipstick with both lids off. I'm surprised at just how well this concealer performs! Creamy concealers tend to sink into my lines (yep old age is catching up to me) but this product blends in beautifully for an almost natural look without emphasizing lines or pores. I do have a lot of fine lines around my eyes so maybe it would suit a younger skin tone but I have found several cheaper options that work much better on me. It did brighten up my under eye but gave me a light to medium coverage at best and started to crepe after a few hours even though I used an under eye setting powder. I also had to use quite a lot of product which for the size of the concealer is not ideal (it doesn’t come with a huge amount). ![]() It is a stick concealer so very easy to use but it wasn’t that blendable and I had to work quite hard to get it to sink in. At $60 I expected some holy grail concealer that would last all day and diminish my dark circles but this wasn’t to be. Unfortunately for me the after glow soon wore off when I tried it the next day. It comes in a stunning metal tube and is quite compact so great for the purse and of course well it’s Hourglass so who doesn’t want to go flashing it around. The first thing you think of when you see the Hourglass stand is “Oooohhhhh Luxurious, gorgeous products” and this concealer was no exception. “As the temperature increases, my general rule of thumb is that less is more.” Fortunately, the latest formulas have you covered-with smart pigments and novel textures that give new meaning to the concept of no-makeup makeup. This product was recommended to me by one of the lovely women in Mecca who up until this point had never suggested a product I didn’t end up loving. “In warmer weather, you’re likely to sweat more and skin tends to become a little oilier, which calls for a different texture of concealer that still gives a flawless finish without looking too heavy,” says Ashton. but still has the requisite staying power.Īdele’s makeup artist, Michael Ashton, explains the dilemma. But for many women, there’s one makeup bag essential that remains in constant rotation: a sheer, lightweight concealer that hides dark under-eye circles and covers spots. That means putting down the blow-dryer in favor of embracing your natural hair texture, dipping into a vibrant cobalt blue eyeshadow, and shelving a full-coverage foundation in favor of bare, glowing skin. ![]() With Memorial Day-and summer!-finally on the horizon, it is the perfect time to switch up your beauty routine. ![]()
